Market states
- Calibrating
- Current data exists, but the market has not accumulated enough usable history for the required baseline or research condition.
- Context only
- The market can be shown as live context, but it does not yet meet every requirement for calibrated signal interpretation or historical outcomes.
- Unavailable current
- The latest required observation is absent or stale. Historical records may still exist, but they should not be presented as a current match.
- Research updating
- New events are still becoming completed outcomes. Existing completed results remain historical context, while the freshest horizon may lag.
- Healthy
- The relevant collector is fresh and the quality checks for its current output have passed.
Why coverage differs by horizon
A recent event can complete its 15-minute outcome long before its 24-hour outcome. Sample counts therefore normally decline at longer horizons, especially for newly listed markets or recently introduced features. PerpMetric shows the sample for each horizon rather than reusing one headline count.
How to use quality information
- Prefer completed samples with visible coverage and an adequate count.
- Do not treat “context only” as a calibrated signal.
- Check freshness before comparing a current value with historical outcomes.
- Use ranges alongside medians; point estimates hide dispersion.
- Expect newly listed HIP-3 markets to need time before full calibration.
